Day 2: Avacha Bay and Starichkov Island Cruise – museum “Vulkarium”

Аfter breakfast, we leave for the sea port. Today we have a sea boat trip to the Starichkov Island.

The voyage to the Starichkov Island is famous for its picturesque grottos and rookeries- places of sea birds nesting (puffin, murrelet, cormorant, tarrock , guillemot, gull), meeting with sea animals – common seal, and visiting «the stone zoo», formed under the influence of the sun, wind and breaking wave, when rocks are destroying, making odd relief, recalling people and animals. Fishing heat and dinner from the fresh fish will please all the voyage participants. Another indisputable advantage of the sea voyage is freshly caught delicacy tasting (caviar of sea-urchin and crabs), getting be diver. The duration of the trip – 5- 6 hours. We recommend to bring pills for motion sickness.

Then we are going to sanatorium-and-spa area called Paratunka to enjoy healing waters of Kamchatka land.  Return to the guest house. Dinner. Rest.

 

Day 3. Optional tours

Optional tour 1. Helicopter trip to the Valley of Geysers – Uzon Caldera – Nalychevo Valley  Price per person: 47 000 rub in a groop tour. Those who want to admire boiling fountains, geyserite constructions, mud pots,thermophile alga – choose the trip to the Valley of geysers.The Valley is a natural phenomenon, which is the one and only according to the diversity of the forms of geothermal activity.The excursion to the Valley of geysers will become one of the most remembering moments of your life! In the Uzon caldera you may observe young volcanism manifestations, mineral- and ore-working, thermal lakes development and outlets of the youngest oil on the planet. We offer you to become a witness of the unique natural phenomena. This flight tour includes landing in Nalychevo Valley famouse for its thermal waters. Water composition here includes hydro carbonate- chloride-sodium and tones up and reinforces organism. Lunch is on the route. Duration – 6-7 hours.

Optional tour 2:Helicopter trip to Kuril lake – Ksudach Volcano – Khodutkinskiye hot springs Price per person: 47000 rub in a group tour. Those, who want to see bears in their natural environment and observe fleece salmon spawning, will go to the Kuril Lake. The period of excursions begins in the middle June and finishes in the middle September. It is one of the most picturesque and rich in bio resources places in Kamchatka. It is the heart of the reserve. Kuril Lake is the deepest fresh water area in the region. The biggest salmon herd in Asia spawning in this place. Besides, the biggest bear population in Russia is concentrated by the lake (up to 1000 specious). You will land on the shore of the Ksudach Volcano crator lake. Volcanic sand there is heated by the Ksudach activity, so another name for this place – Hot sands of the Ksudach Volcano. This flight tour includes bathing in Khodutka hot springs. Lunch is on the route. Duration  – 6-7 hours.

Please note: Helicoter tour depends directly on weather conditions and may be postponed for several hours or days. If  the flight is cancelled because of the weather conditions the helciopter tour cost is fully refunded to the passengers.

Day 4. Vachkazhets Mountain – Zelenovskye hot springs

Today we are going to a very picturesque place; walk through the Vachkazhets mountain ridge. It consists of three mountains (Letnyaya Poperechnaya, Vachkazhetz, Vachkazhcy) , connected with the help of mountain ridge, and Tahkoloch. There are four waterfalls, three glaciers (mountain circus), mountain river and several ,brooks in its neighborhood. High-mountain «Alpine» flowers grow there at the small altitude. We may observe blossoming of the same flowers several times a year, because of uneven snow dump, connecting with relief peculiarities. During this walk you will also see how Mountain River is born, you could to quench your thirst by spring water, you will breathe a clear mountain air, will enjoy a view and the diversity of flowers. Lunch is during the route.

After the program we will do a short passage to the thermal waters called «Zelenovsky Ozerki (lakes)», interesting peculiarity of this place is swimming in baths with thermal water. The composition of water is unique – rich in silica acid and selenium it promotes complex invigoration and rejuvenation of the organism, improves metabolism and immune system. 

Day 5. Acquaintance with the indigenous peoples of Kamchatka – Paratunka in hot springs

Acquaintance with Kamchatka will be not full if you don’t engrossed in the ancient life of the indigenous people and know their traditions and customs. You will see the performance of the national company, talk about culture and life of Kamchatka folk near the campfire, know about life of a sled dog kennel; make a compositional photo session in traditional clothes. In the end of the day – trip to the hot springs (not long moving) .Then come returning to the guest house. 

Day 6. Camel Mountain – Paratunka hot springs

 Today we will go to the volcanic plateau.  The road to the Camel Mountain in an ATV is rather rough. Mountain Camel – lava extrusion – is between to the majestic Avachinsky Volcano and Koryaksky Volcano. The age of the extrusion varies from 5 to 15 thousand years.

Panorama of the Nalychevskaya valley, Zhupanovsky Volcano, Viluchinsky Volcano, Mutnovsky Volcano, Gorely Volcano  and in good weather of Opala volcano opens from the extrusive summit. Small group of black headed marmots (tarbagans) inhabits on the Camel Mountain slopes. Also you will be surprised by the meeting with ground squirrel (arctic ground squirrel) – a very sociable animal (stays awake from June to September). These funny rodents only waiting for tourists to feed them. But while an animal wheedle sweets you may make unforgettable pictures with it!

After trekking, we will certainly take some rest in the hot thermal water of Paratunka recreational zone. Return to the guest house. Dinner. Rest.

Day 7. Rafting and fishing on the Bystraya river  – Malka wild hot springs

• Nutrition: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Who don’t want to try your fishing luck? Today we will make a one day rafting with fishing on the board of safe 16 foot raft (inflatable boat), enjoy the unique Kamchatka landscape. Experienced guides will tell you the peculiarities of local fishing and will teach beginners piscatorial skills. The rafting takes 3 hours, the longitude varies from 9 to 12 km, allocation on the raft is about 5-6 persons. Besides the rafting itself we also include visiting of Malka hot springs. On the way you will try legendary pies from the Sokochi village – this «delicious» tradition is observed by all passing by this village!

Please note! The amount of minnow is restricted – 2 per person a day, but you may buy it from the guide or use your own. 

Nutrition in Sokochy village and dinner in Milkovo village are not included into price.

Day 8: Dachnye hot springs – Bathing in thermal water

Today we have a big day! We will make a long journey. It takes 3 to 4 hours to get to the Dachnye hot springs with stops for taking pictures, as we can’t take no notice of the view of Viluchinsky volcano, its waterfall and an impressive panorama of Kamchatka volcanoes from the bird’s sight. Also we will see the biggest Geothermal Power Station in Russia, take the northen slope of the Mutnovsky Volcano – 15 minutes climbing – and get to the Dachnye springs.

Here we may observe puddles, in which water is boiling, pulsing hot streams of water, and small mud pots, enveloped by thick clouds of steam and multi-colored carpets of ejected sulfur.

To finish this excursion by swimming in wild thermal springs is an ideal variant to take a rest and relax after the saturated day!

Day 9: Trip to the coast of the Pacific ocean  – Fish market and souvenir shops

• Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The trip to the coast of the Pacific ocean may be the best way out! – we will go to the beautiful beach with volcanic black sand. Even and gentle shore of the Pacific Ocean is covered with black sand. Black, shimmering sand is volcanoes heritage. In the majority of cases the nature of such unusual landscape is volcanic: million years ago red-hot lava was cooling by the cold water and broke out into tiny black grains of sand. That is why black beaches are rare and so incredible sight. These 30 km of black sand are favorite place of Kamchatka surfers, kite surfers and lovers of the active rest. Picnic on the beach. Duration  – 7-8 hours.

Bathe in hot springs of Paratunka. Return to the guest house. Dinner.

Day 10. Departure

Important information

For days in the outdoors, we recommend the use of lightweight, breathable, moisture-wicking fabrics made of wool or synthetic fibers. Cotton is not recommended for days spent hiking as it does not allow for heat or moisture to enter or escape, and it will not dry easily once wet.

Going to Kamchatka do not forget that the weather here is very changeable and unpredictable. The next important moment is that there is no warm rain ever. So, we advise you to have clothes for all occasions.

We recommend using a backpack for your convenience, or a medium-sized suitcase if you prefer. A good size day-pack (20-35L) is also essential to carry your personal gear for the day. This daypack will be used to carry your personal gear for the day, your lunch and a water bottle.
